  August 5, 2019 - We wanted to get something small for lunch so we decided to get dim sum.
  
  Everything was good. The soup dumplings was my favourite!
  
  The lamb dumplings was a little bit salty, but it was still good.
  
  The staff was very polite and the service was great.
  The price was also very good, it was about $6.50 for each item. So between 3 people we sent $10 (tips not included)

  Just northwest of Highway 7 and Leslie in Richmond is Northern Dumpling, a dumpling place in the busy area near my work.
  
  Based on what I heard from some colleagues they seemed to enjoy the experience. Our workplace nearby happened to have an International Food Day over the lunch hour. Nevertheless, we made our way to Northern Dumpling.
  
  It was a Thursday just before 12:30pm and it wasn't too busy. On this visit we ordered pork and chive dumplings, pork and celery (by accident), and scallion egg pancake. We then oredered the vegetarian dumpling for one my colleagues. The pancake was very good. The chive dumpling had the best flavour. The other items were fair. Every restaurant has their strong suits it may have been possible we did not pick the best items.
  
  Service was friendly and warm which makes for a satisfactory lunch away from the office.

  Decided to come back here cause of my recent yelp review of the day. I was so excited to come back for some soup dumplings. Sadly this visit was not even half as good as I remembered it to be! As you can see I've only given it a 2 star vs 4 stars before.
  
  When we got here today, it was busy. All the tables were full and luckily we didn't wait long. Before we got seated at our table, the woman who seemed to be the owner, was wiping the floor and laying newspaper on the floor. Odd. And told us to sit there with the wet floor where she had the newspaper. Gross. But whatever just newspaper. Luckily I wasn't wearing any expensive shoes I guess.
  
  Moving on, the food was nothing like how I remembered it to be. The pork filled soup dumplings XLB was salty.
  
  Don't even get me started on the shanghai fried rice cakes. When we got the plate .. there were barely any food on there. The portion was VERY small. And taste wise it was super bland. Also doesn't Shanghai style have minced pork? Well they were no where to be found and I didn't have to look too hard considering the amount of food there was.
  
  The steamed leek and pork dumplings were okay, again tasted salty.
  
  Fried onion cake was fine.
  
  Overall the food was bad, and I am sad considering the high rating I gave last time. The service and food was definitely not the same. I won't be returning and will no longer recommend this place.

  Decent place for dumplings , there's a variety of different types to choose from. We ordered the minced meat sauce noodles and it was a little disappointing. There was too little sauce for the amount of noodles they give. The dumplings come in a order of 10 so it's pretty filling. The best dish was the beef wrap.

  This is our to go place for dumplings. Has a very casual and homey vibe. They specialize in handmade dumplings as well as other northern Chinese dishes. The price is pretty good as well, we ordered about 5 dishes and paid about $38.00.
  
  Highly recommend!
